Flutist Nila, participated in the summer session of the Chamber Music Center of New York. She rehearsed chamber music and orchestral music for 3 weeks at the Master’s School in Dobbs Ferry, NY.   She performed in 5 chamber music concerts and 5 orchestra concerts.

Congratulations to NYS Principal Orchestra flutists – Connie, Principal flute, and Tavni, Principal Second flute for their Carnegie Hall NYS concert on June 4th!   AND…bittersweet shout out to graduating seniors, Connie and Tanvi – Good luck in college next year!!!   I’ll miss you both very much!

Congratulations to our students that submitted performance videos for our virtual “End of Year” recital! It takes a different type of preparation to create a video than to perform in person.  Each has its rewards and difficulties. Claire auditioned for the University of Rhode Island, her first choice school, and was accepted as a Music Ed major! She came to me just last year with a lot of catching up to do since she had never taken formal flute lessons. Claire worked so incredibly hard and consistently and achieved her goal. Congratulations to all of our WMS students that performed so artistically on the Dec. 13, 2020, Winter Virtual Recital.  What a wonderful evening of music-making!

3 WMS flute students have successfully auditioned for Western Regional and 1 viola student successfully auditioned for Southern Regional!  They are all now eligible to audition for All-State.  KUDOS to them all!

She will perform again with the Chamber Music Center of New York at Carnegie Hall on  June 18, 2020!

He auditioned successfully for the New England Music Festival!  Concert is at Hanover HS in New Hampshire March 21, 2020

They participated in the Young Musician’s Festival Fairfield University March 7, 8, 14, 15, 2020.

Both were awarded First Prize at the Elite International Competition and will perform in the Winner’s Recital at Carnegie Hall on March 1, 2020

She will participate in the Winter Recital at the Darien First Congregational Church organized by the Schubert Club on February 22, 2020.
