Igor Sherbakov holds a Master of Music degree from the prestigious Gnessin Russian Academy of Music in Moscow. Having taught piano and French horn for almost three decades in New York City, his easygoing nature and detail-oriented approach make him a favorite of students, who learn to play by sight and by ear. The versatility of his background in almost every genre enriches his teaching in styles ranging from classical to gospel to contemporary.
As a teenager, he played and sang in rock and jazz bands, experiences which he felt helped him in teaching children interested in popular music. In demand as both a pianist and organist in many area churches, he also values and enjoys giving back to the community, performing at senior centers, including King’s Harbor, Atria, JASA, and at the Hebrew Home, Sunrise.
