WMS Beat
February 2026

Dear WMS Musicians and Families,
I hope you are all surviving these frigid temperatures and that you all had a “chocolately” Valentine’s Day!
We had 5 splendid concerts in December!. We heard so many magnificent performances of pianists, violinists, violists, cellists, singers, and flutists. Congratulations to everyone! We hope those that were unable to participate will do so at our spring concerts on June 13th and 14th.
We will also have another senior home concert on May 26th for those that would like to participate. It’s shortly before our recitals, so it’s a great opportunity to practice your piece. The residents absolutely love when you guys come and perform for them.
Our students have also performed in performances outside of WMS – read on for all the details in our KUDOS section.
We are transitioning to My Music Staff to help centralize communication, track lessons, make ups, and billing. Thank you to those that have signed up! For those that have not yet signed up, please do! If anyone has any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to Bonnee, who has set this all up for us.
And finally, if you are so inclined, we’d love your vote for Best of Gold this year. The deadline is March 1st. Thanks very much!
Stay warm everyone!
Lisa

My Music Staff
We have been transitioning to My Music Staff to help centralize communications.
For students, you have access to a practice log where you can can record how long you practiced, as well as your videoing yourself practice.
You can share videos and notes with your teacher.
For parents you can see schedules, notes, and track make ups.
With all communications going through MMS, there will be no more email chains.
Thank you to those who have signed up and input your info. For those that have not yet done so, please do! If anyone has any questions, don’t hesitate to
reach out to Bonnee, who has set this all up for us.
Songs are catchy, but so are germs!
If you’re not feeling well, please do not come to your lesson in person
in order to help keep our staff, teachers, students, and families healthy.
We have many options available so you don’t miss out on your lesson!
You can always have a virtual lesson and have your lesson from home, request a pre-recorded video lesson in advance of your lesson, or send a friend or family member in your place!
