Evgenia Zilbergerg

Evgenia started her musical journey as a violin and piano student in Yekaterinburg, Russia, at the age of five, and when she was 14, her family moved to the United States. She attended LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts, studied at the Manhattan School of Music Precollege on a full scholarship, and became a member of the InterSchool Orchestras of New York (ISO) under the direction of Jonathan Strasser.

Throughout her musical education, Evgenia received numerous awards and scholarships, including the Elaine Bart Award for Best Chamber Music Performance and the Meadowmount School of Music Best Solo Performance Award.

Evgenia studied with world-renowned violin teachers, including Isaac Malkin and Erick Friedman. After receiving a full scholarship on violin to the Yale School of Music, she decided to broaden her musical experience by studying voice as well. Her voice instructors included Leah Mogilevskaya of the Bolshoi Theatre, Shirley Love, and Virginia Grasso.

Evgenia went on to perform as both an instrumentalist and classical vocalist. She has performed with ensembles at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, as well as the Meadowmount Summer Music Festival. For many years, she held positions as a vocalist at Park Avenue Synagogue and Brick Presbyterian Church in New York City, working under the direction of Neil Robinson and Keith Toth.

As a teacher, Evgenia believes that students learn best in a fun, creative, and stress-free environment. She designs her lessons around each student’s individual abilities, experience, needs and goals. Her goal is to develop well-rounded musicians who not only learn to play or sing, but also develop a genuine love and appreciation for music. She teaches piano, violin, viola, and voice.

More recently, Evgenia has expanded her musical interests to include DJing and music production, blending music and creating seamless transitions between different styles and genres.
